Abstract

Vasculitis characterized by immune cell infiltration is an important mechanism in the development of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. The role of IL-17 in hypertension is controversial So, This study aimed to observe and clarify the role of IL-17 in hypertension patients and its link with oxidative stress – antioxidants. The sample of this study consists of 30 patients (18 male ,12 female ) and 30 apparently healthy individuals(18 male ,12 female ) . The results showed an elevated mean sera level of IL-17 (966.04 pg/ml ), in Patients with hypertension as compared with the control (213.37 pg/ml), with significant difference (p≤0.05) While show marked decrease in level of (NO and GSH ) in Patients with hypertension as compared with the control (p≤0.05). It was found negative correlation between IL-17 , NO and GSH .
